What a horrible Friday the 13th

Fri Nov 13, 2009, 9:37 PM
My 2 month old baby prairie dog hurt himself two days ago very suddenly, we're assuming from a tumble off the couch (which he did every so often). Yesterday I took him in to the vet's and he had x-rays done, his lower spine had two vertebrae that are crushed together slightly. He's scooting on his butt, basically, and not eating. Today I did get him to eat on his own at least and he's on pain meds, antibiotics, and calcium supplement. He did two Yahoo's, but I'm sure they hurt horribly considering his back is hurt, and they jump onto their back feet to yahoo-greet their owners....

Today at noon, my mature male Cyriocosmus ritae (tarantula, dwarf species) arrived to replace my other one that was eaten by my female. I openned him up, and he's showing signs of DKS. His legs are twitching, moving spastically, and I can flip him upside down and his legs just twitch..... I paid 90 dollars for him, and am trying to see what can be done about it. He's being kept warm right now and humid, and dealer wants to know how he is doing tomorrow night. Seriously though, I don't think he's going to pull through...... urgh and I don't think he has a replacement T, either, C. ritaes aren't exactly common and are really new in the USA right now, and he only advertised having one. Only way to get another would be another import from Peru, or from someone who bought them from him or another dealer that imported.

We also were going to see a play today. I paid 80something dollars for tickets to it online a few weeks ago. Well, Colin's mom was supposed to watch our hyperactive kid, but she was late coming to babysit him. Then, the weather was really bad and while driving down, we missed our exit, got turned around MULTIPLE times, and were far too late to get into the play. Not only that, they oversold the show, and still we are unable to get a refund or credit towards a later show...

SO we went to PF Changs for dinner instead, but it had over an hour wait, so we went to Olive Garden and the two of us had a 70 dollar meal. Yeah, appetizers and everything and I wasn't even hungry, I was just sick to my stomach.

This was our only night off together, we work opposite shifts are are never together alone, so it really sucked that our manager was covering us so we could have a night off for once, only for it to turn out as horribly as it has.

.....everything's been so expensive, sigh... I just really hope Spud (my baby prairie dog) pulls through this, and that the C. ritae male either turns out OK, or I can get a refund or exchange or SOMEthing...........

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those deaf-mutes....Or should I?

You know what I'd do. I mean, if I had my goddamn choice? I'd just be a catcher in the rye and all.

I've been a huge Pet shop of Horrors fan since '99. T-chan is just adorable in a cute little evil way, hehe.

I actually just read it last year and fell in love. It's such a great series, but nobody ever reads it! D:

I know, I forced my man to read the series and now he loves it as well.

I just picked up the new Petshop of Horrors: Tokyo manga yesterday (number 6). First story hit me a little too close to home, since I have a "viral" youtube video of a pet (let's just say a pet that's pretty rare to find in USA) who died two years ago and basically some similar events happened to me.
:iconxallurex:
aw. Yeah, some are heart-wrenching, others are just plain awesome/gross.
